MG Midget
Chris started getting involved with photography whilst at school, which is many more years than he cares to remember. Watching Rallycross and Rallying on TV in the 80’s and 90’s. It was about this time that he ventured out with a Minolta 35mm SLR camera in hand to capture what was the Lombard RAC Rally, which became an annual event for him, before changing to a Nikon FM, still a 35mm film camera.
His first digital camera was a Minolta bridge camera and he went to Spain for the 2003 WRC RACC Rally Catalunya. Finding the camera a little too slow, on return to the UK he purchased a DSLR Nikon D70s.
Hillclimb
In 2011 Chris set-up JCB Photography using the Nikon D300s and has since regularly attended Harewood Speed Hillclimb and other Motorsport events like Rallying in the North Yorkshire Moors Forests such as Dalby.

For Rallycross he has travelled to Blyton Park and Croft Circuits.

The Nikon D300s was eventually replaced with the D7200. While out in the cold and sometimes very dusty forests, and needing to change lenses, Chris had the idea that it would be easier and safer (not getting dust on the sensor or lens mount) to get a second camera so that he didn’t have to keep changing lenses. So he got a full frame Nikon D750 to add to the collection.

Last year he replaced the D7200 with the Nikon D500, as last a replacement for the D300s. He has 3 different Nikon zoom lenses from 24mm all the way up to 600mm with the use of the full frame and CMOS sensor Nikon cameras.
