The ACU British Motocross Championship returned to Schoolhouse for the penultimate round of the season. 


MX1 Class


In the MX1 class nobody had an answer for #84 Jeffrey Herlings, as he was untouchable winning the first race by 1.4 seconds and then showing his class by winning race two by 26.8 seconds. Herlings was also able to set the fastest laps in both races with race two being the best at 2:00.841. 

#426 Conrad Mewse who sits second in the championship was able to finish second in both races, keeping the title fight alive until the final round. 


Josh Gilbert was able to finish fourth in race one and went one better to finish third in race two to grab 3rd overall for the round. Josh continues to improve on his form after having a tough start to the year.


Taylor Hammal was able to finish the round fourth overall by finishing third in race one and fourth in race two which he tied on points with Gilbert.

MX2 class



In the MX2 class #100 Tommy Searle claimed maximum points, winning both races over the weekend. Giving a masterclass demonstration Searle got two good starts and controlled the pace through out the races.


Searle was simply in a league of his own, winning race one by 3.5 seconds and race two by 6.1 seconds and posting a best lap of 2:04.848 round the technical Schoolhouse track.

#53 Dylan Walsh went second in race one and third in race two, he cemented a solid second overall for the round despite his “goggles fogging up with all the mist” he said post race. 


#912 Joel Rizzi was able to finish third overall after having been wiped out in the opening race, but was able to regain the race and finish fifth. In race two he finished in second place to salvage a good amount of points for the round. 

The final round is heading to Preston Docks for the last stop of the season. The MX1 title will be decided with Jeffrey Herlings on 219 points and Conrad Mewse on 204 points.


The MX2 title is on a knife edge with Cas Valk on 186 points and the inform Tommy Searle on 185 points……. who’s your money on for the 2024 Championship wins?
