Paul Cassidy returns to the saddle for the 2024 Isle of Man TT

Homegrown Island Fuels Racing rider joins forces with eSIM Go to target IoM TT success following his dramatic exit from the NW200

DOUGLAS, ISLE OF MAN, 28th May 2024 – After footage of his North West 200 racing accident went viral, Castletown-based Paul Cassidy is planning his return at the forthcoming Isle of Man TT and will once again be sponsored by digital mobile experts, eSIM Go. The Island Fuels Racing rider is targeting a top 10 finish in the Supertwin standings having finished 13th last year.

Paul’s return to the saddle comes 4 weeks after the NW200 in which he collided with a wall, launched 25 feet into the air and landed on top of a parked car – an incident seen by over 180,000 social media viewers and one he admits he was fortunate to escape with just bumps and bruises.

“It’s been a wild few weeks – the media coverage has been huge and my phone hasn’t stopped. Calls have come in from all over the world and my social following has really grown, and all because I came off my bike! The biggest positive to come out of it is raising awareness for riders to wear the right kit; proper racing leathers and a decent helmet. Trust me, it’s worth it. All my focus now is on the TT and I feel privileged to be selected to take part again. The TT holds a very special place in my heart, ever since moving to the Isle of Man as an 8 year old and growing up watching my heroes racing past. I’ve got a great team behind me and am grateful to eSIM Go for their continued support and sponsorship.”

As someone who travels a lot, being based on the island but competing in races in the UK and further afield, Paul is an advocate for using travel eSIMs to avoid expensive mobile data roaming fees: “I spend a lot of time on my Instagram and Facebook smartphone apps and always need to stay connected when travelling abroad. Travel eSIMs make it all really easy, even if you aren’t great with technology.”

Darren Shaw, Co-Founder of eSIM Go, based in Douglas, said: “Paul is a fantastic rider who knows the TT course very well, and we’re thrilled to sponsor him. We’ll be cheering him on from the grandstand with guests we’re inviting from across the world to experience this uniquely Manx occasion.”
